Abstract
The design and development of thermal systems based on thermal performance and transient behaviour is usually a cumbersome task when computer simulations are needed and a computer program is to be developed specifically for each configuration of interest to the system engineer. The use of a modular simulation program with a sufficient variety of system components, with ample flexibility to combine available components and controllers, strongly simplifies the task of the system engineer. This objective, has been pursued by the development of EMGP3. In particular active thermal solar systems have been considered although the program is not limited to such applications.
