2-D Steady State and Transient Analysis of Salt Water Intrusion into Coastal Aquifers by a Direct Time Domain BEM

  • Chapter
Boundary Elements XIII

Abstract

A direct time domain Boundary Element Method (BEM) is applied to the groundwater flow problem in a 2-D unconfined coastal aquifer. A time marching numerical scheme and quasi-steady state approximations are utilized in the proposed solution. Numerical examples and a comparison study is presented.
