Abstract

Improved methods for the growth and polymerization of single crystals of polydiacetylene PTS, poly bis(p-toluene sulfonate) of 2,4-hexadiyne-1,6-diol, have allowed new optical measurements to be made. The absorption spectrum, and typical Z-scans for measuring the optical nonlinearity up to fourth order are described.
