Abstract

In these lectures I will concentrate on the deep inelastic scattering observed at HERA [1]. HERA, which collides either electrons or positrons (of ~27.5 GeV) with protons (of 820 or 920 GeV) is designed to study the structure of the proton and its consistuents the quarks as well as probe electroweak interactions and search for exotic phenomena. At the same time extensive studies can be made in photoproduction and in the final states in deep inelastic scattering but these topics will not be dealt with in this paper.
