An Artificial Reef Experiment off the Dutch Coast

  • Chapter
Artificial Reefs in European Seas

Abstract

The Dutch working group on Alternative Materials in Aquatic Engineering was the first to suggest placing an artificial reef off the Dutch coast in 1986. Although some initial research into the idea was commissioned, it did not lead to a field experiment (see Intron B.V., 1986; Leewis, 1986).
