Abstract

The short coherence length of new high temperature superconductors stress the problem of grain boundaries. This fact together with the difficulty in producing large single crystals leads to the realization of the importance of thin film material for different studies including that of fluctuation conductivity. Fluctuation behavior is examined in two main directions, the usual one in the a-b plane and along c-axis. Various thin films of YBaCuO grown on different substrates in different methods and with the c-axis in two dinstict directions are used for fluctuation conductivity measurements. Similarities and differences coming out from the study of the experimental data give an insight to the physics behind. 3D, 2D but even 0D dimensionalities have been revealed.
