Abstract

Most of the applications considered in Part 4 have been mentioned in earlier chapters, but is seems appropriate, at this point, to make an appraisal of the current progress in engineering in this field and to speculate on the prospects in each category of application. The intention of Part 4 is to generate a conclusion to the work as a whole, by briefly reconsidering the material from earlier parts of Volumes 3A and 3B, organized in terms of application.
