Abstract

It is always more satisfactory to form and adhere to simple patterns of prescribing. The following observations are made about the use of drugs in practice from experience that has come during a time of an increasing availability of a number of preparations on the market. Drug prescribing patterns will undoubtedly change but the following views are personal ones which come from the author’s own experience in practice. Prescribing certainly presents a problem because of the plethora of products available, and as a general principle it is better to learn to use well one or two drugs from a group.
