Abstract
Legal associations of various descriptions have been interested in the subject of state immunity since the late nineteenth century. Their work on the subject often pointed to the direction in which the rules of state immunity were to develop. A quick survey of what has been done by learned societies in this field would complement, and on occasion further clarify, our survey of the current state of the law and the manner in which it evolved.
