Abstract

The progress in electron beam technologies requires further improvements to the methods of investigation, design and optimisation of electron-optical systems (EOS). In this respect the computer simulation is a powerful means for analysing EOS being designed. In this article, the basic aspects of both a novel problem-oriented approach and software developed for computer aided design (CAD) of technological axially symmetric EOS with thermionic cathodes are presented and illustrated.
