Abstract

The Landau model of a quantum mechanical system in a constant magnetic field on a compact or finite volume hyperbolic space is connected with the subject of holomorphic modular forms or Maass forms of weight k. The subject of half integer modular forms and Maass forms has an active and rich area of research in analytic number theory. This chapter examines the features of this subject as they apply to quantum physics.
