Part of the book series: Educational Innovation in Economics and Business ((EIEB,volume 4))

Abstract

During the last thirty years, the field of organisation development (OD) has grown and gained momentum as technology, globalisation and momentous social change have forced organisations to focus on continuous and sometimes radical transformation. According to Drucker (1994), “No century in recorded history has experienced so many social transformations and such radical ones as the twentieth century. They, I submit, may turn out to be the most significant events of this, our century, and its lasting legacy.” (p.53)
