Abstract

During a period of over 31/2 years, the water at the network of sites described in Section 2.1 was analyzed for a series of chemical substances of importance for the biotic community. In addition, samples were taken at many other locations in the Pantanal and its watershed to provide a standard of comparison. The equipment used to determine the physical properties of the ambient water has already been discussed in Section 4.2.
