Abstract
The practice exerted by Tolle (1960) to take the blood from the auricular vein appeared to us to be the most considerate method. However, it will be necessary to have some patience in this instance until the quantity required is obtained. When taking blood we use a method ensuring that

1.
a perfect complement is obtained;

2.
the blood required for this purpose is obtained within a short time;
-
3.
the rabbits can be bled 20 to 30 times; and
-
4.
the method requires less skill and a small number of instruments only.
