Abstract

I write to you today not from my position as educator, professor, or researcher, but as a mother of a five-year-old who began her journey in/with/through school just a few short months ago. As she began her journey, I began one of my own: I found myself no longer someone else’s teacher, nor the caretaker and nurturer of other people’s children in schools, nor the preparer of future teachers; instead, I am classroom volunteer, new member of the PTA, and Kindergarten mom.
