Abstract

How does the seed of a week-long interdisciplinary unit get planted? The origin of the unit plan started at one of our regular 8th grade team meetings. A group of four homeroom teachers and the middle school director gathered for our weekly lunch meeting to talk about students when the discussion spiraled into how to inspire students and help them connect to the curriculum in a deeper way.
