Abstract

Article VII, paragraph 1 of the Convention states that “Each State Party shall, in accordance with its constitutional processes, adopt the necessary measures to implement its obligations under this Convention.” Article VII, paragraph 5 states that “Each State Party shall inform the Organization of the legislative and administrative measures taken to implement the Convention.” Article VIII, paragraph 38, subparagraph (e) calls upon the Technical Secretariat to “Provide technical assistance and technical evaluation to States Parties in the implementation of the provisions of this Convention.”
