Abstract

The sound of whispering pencils scratching across paper leaving newborn words in their wake is occasionally interrupted by squeaking erasers and the subsequent brushing away of rubber shavings and incomplete thoughts. I cherish the sound of writing; the sound of a writer’s voice; the sound of storytelling; the sound of expression; the sound of learning; the sound of success or, at times, the sound of complete frustration.
