Abstract
Though the management of trauma in different parts of the human body is dependent on the specific demands of the tissues and organ systems, it is well worth keeping in mind the general principles and practical aspects of managing trauma. These are uniform irrespective of specialty and body parts or regions. Without stabilization of the trauma patient and attention to the finer details described herewith, the treatment remains suboptimal and could even be counterproductive. Specialty departments must work as a well-coordinated team in the management of complex trauma.
