Abstract
This work was motivated by the need to design and de-risk a very large study evaluating safety and efficacy of an experimental vaccine designed to prevent post-operative invasive infections with Staphylococcus aureus (S aureus). S aureus is a leading cause of healthcare-associated infections, resulting in a substantial burden to health care systems.
