Abstract

A comprehensive review of supergravity in eleven dimensions is presented with particular emphasis on the seven-sphere compactification. The complete mass spectrum and its Osp(8,4) content are exhibited and discussed. We conclude with some speculative remarks about the effects of quantum gravity.
