Abstract

The method of solution presented above demonstrates that the complex fluid flows in turbo machines can be analysed by a three-dimensional approach. In view of the low computation time achieved with the existing computer program, various effects such as the flow near the leading edge can be studied more accurately and may possibly be extended to cover the case where a boundary layer thickness is taken into account. Moreover, the use of the collocation method makes it possible to apply a similar method for compressible and rotational flows, which is one of the reasons for preferring the collocation method to the variational method.
