Abstract

In November 1995, the Wall St Journal coined the term ‘intranet’ to describe the use of Internet technologies by managers in organisations to reform their information technology (IT) strategy. Many commentators, for example Pincince et al. (1996), Tomasula (1996) claim that the development of corporate intranet solutions has fuelled the most significant change in corporate infrastructure since the development of the PC in the early 1980s.
