Abstract
Genetic engineering is a technology used to isolate genes from one organism, manipulate them in the laboratory, and then inject them into another organism (Pollack and Shaffer 2005: 324). This technology, also known as recombinant DNA (rDNA) research, has become one of the commercially most significant parts of modern biotechnology.
