Abstract

Industrial restructuring can be and is affected by social security schemes and, especially, by their ongoing and planned reforms. Nowadays, unlike one or two decades ago, social security issues are at the top of the policy agenda. If it does not correspond to the challenges faced by societies it slows down the industrial restructuring.
