Abstract
Analysis included in earlier chapters has demonstrated that, after eight years of inconsistent economic reforms, Russia is still very far from a smoothly functioning market economy. It has turned out that expectations for a quick transformation of the country into a modern market economy belonged to the realm of utopias. A successful economic transition needs further efforts from Russia and co-operation, understanding and support from the rest of the world, but first of all a great deal of patience.
