Abstract

The October 1966 session of the Frelimo Central Committee had also addressed the organization’s educational program.116 Frelimo was apprehensive that IM students enjoyed more privileges than others, were out of touch with the liberation movement and that there was a danger of them evolving into an elite. Of particular concern were those students who tended to look down on the guerrilla fighters, who, for lack of a formal education, were regarded as an inferior class.
