The movements and performances mentioned here existed for a time and made some impact, introducing fascinating (at times convoluted, at times remarkably effective) formal and thematic changes. And while the plays analysed are now largely unperformed, diminishing into the vaults of theatre history, the methods and examples still remain, residual but ‘still there’.
