Abstract
It’s a Monday morning in May 2007. I’m on my way to Oslo Prison for the first time. Not completely true of course; I have already been to three meetings there to discuss my research project. I also went on two tours of the prison when I worked for the Correctional Service of Norway Staff Academy. But today is not one of those days; today feels like the first time. Today is the day it begins.
