Abstract
However, the Trump administration commenced in January 2017 not believing climate change to be a priority and promising to repeal burdensome regulations, expand further oil and gas production, and bring back coal, which in 2016 slumped to 40% less than 2007 consumption as a result of changing energy markets. In 2018, much uncertainty clouds federal energy policy and its effect on energy patterns in the U.S. But a number of states and cities are stepping up to advance clean energy.
