The Alfred P Sloan Foundation is a philanthropic non-profit institution which was established in 1934 by Alfred Pritchard Sloan. The Foundation makes grants primarily to support original research and broad-based education related to science, technology, economic performance and the quality of American life.
Sloan Research Fellowships
Subjects: Chemistry, computational and evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience and physics.
Purpose: To enhance the careers of the very best young faculty members in specified fields of science.
Eligibility: A candidate must hold a PhD (or equivalent) in chemistry, computational or evolutionary molecular biology, computer science, economics, mathematics, neuroscience, ocean sciences, physics, or a related field; be members of the regular teaching faculty (i.e. tenure track) of a college, university, or other degree-granting institution in the United States or Canada; normally, be no more than six years from completion of their most recent PhD or equivalent, as of the year of their nomination.
