- Open Innovation:

A paradigm stating that companies can and should use both external and internal ideas to boost their innovation. This includes both “outside-in” (calling on external knowledge for use internally) and “inside-out” (when unused or under-performing internal knowledge is promoted outside company walls) approaches. The term has been attributed to Henry Chesbrough, professor at the University of California, Berkeley (USA)
