Paul L. Vasey is a Professor and Board of Governors Research Chair at the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. He conducts cross-cultural and cross-species research on the proximate and ultimate underpinnings of non-conceptive sex in humans and non-human animals.

Early Life and Educational Background

Paul L. Vasey was born in Toronto, Canada, on January 30, 1966. Vasey was awarded his B.A. (Honors) from the University of Alberta in 1989. In 1991, he received his M.A. from Simon Fraser University. In 1997, he received his Ph.D. from the Université de Montréal. Dr. Vasey conducted postdoctoral research at the Université de Montréal, Concordia University, and York University.
