Moderate traumatic brain injury
Definition
Moderate brain injury is characterized by a score of 9–12 on the Glasgow Coma scale (GCS) (severe TBI is 3–8). Moderate brain injuries typically result in a number of cognitive, physical, and emotional/neurobehavioral challenges, many of which may be permanent and can vary over the course of several years.
