Zusammenfassung

Im Zeitalter moderner multimodaler Therapiestrategien werden zunehmend mehr Patienten mit entweder vorbestehender oder aber im Krankheitsverlauf sich entwickelnder Organinsuffizienz behandelt. Die drei zentralen Viszeralorgane (Herz, Leber, Niere) und ihre funktionellen Leistungen sind dabei sowohl im Hinblick auf die Verteilung (Hämodynamik/Plasmaeiweißbindung), die Metabolisierung (Enzyminduktion) als auch die Elimination (Wasserlöslichkeit/aktive tubuläre Sekretionsmechanismen) von pharmakologischen Substanzen von entscheidender Bedeutung.
