Cucumber mosaic virus        (CMV)

Taxonomic position

Genus: Cucumovirus        Family: Bromoviridae

CMV infection in plants of Adenium obesum was reported from Florida, USA and Taiwan (Baker et al. 2003; Chang et al. 2012; Chen et al. 2012). The virus-infected desert rose plants exhibit symptoms of mosaic, chlorotic ring-spot, and line patterns on leaves. The virus is transmitted by a number of aphid species in a non-persistent manner, and also by mechanical sap-inoculation to a large number of hosts.
