Guotai Yan (1953–) earned a doctorate degree in engineering. He is a professor and doctoral tutor in the Landscape Department, School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University. He is also the director of the Resources and Tourism Spatial Planning Research Centre at the School of Urban Planning and Design, Shanghai Tongji University. He has presided over several scenic site planning, geopark planning and urban planning projects. He is the author of ‘Theories and Methods of Tourism Planning’ and ‘Landscape Resources Science’.
