Kunshan stone was given its name because it is mined at Yu Feng Mountain (called Ma’an Shan in the past) in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province. This stone is Cambrian marine dolomite. Kunshan stone is characterised by its white colour and abundant pores, and it is also known as ‘Linglong (exquisite) stone’. It has various shapes and famous varieties, such as chicken bone, walnut, snowflake, red bayberry and lotus leaf wrinkle. This stone is an excellent material for interior decoration and landscape gardening (Fig. 29).
