This term refers to the interaction between humans and the geographical environment. The human-earth system is a complex and enormous system composed of different geographical environments and human social activities with interrelated subsystems. It includes certain structural and functional mechanisms and is constantly evolving. The ‘people’ and ‘land’ in the human-earth system reflect the unity of opposites. Different human and earth patterns formed during different stages of human civilization. Based on the overall geographical environment, development processes and adaptations to the carrying capacity of the geographical environment, this relationship has become the foundation of sustainable tourism development.
