Cultural landscapes are also called human landscapes and include the tangible and intangible cultural landscapes that are a major part of tourism resources. Cultural landscapes are closely related to the geosciences, and the existence of human beings is also a result of the geological evolution process. All cultural landscapes were built up from the geosciences. For example, geological, geomorphological, hydrological and climatic elements affect site selection, the selection of materials, location, and the arrangement and preservation of cultural landscape elements. These elements also affect the intangible cultural landscape in the context of its form, characteristics, distribution, interaction and extent. Certain geological hazards can also damage the cultural landscape. In this context, the assessment of the causes of formation, distribution, usage and preservation of cultural landscapes should be based on the geosciences.
