This park is located in Xiachu Town, Rushan City, Weihai City, Shandong Province, and it covers an area of 2.7 km2. It was designated as one of the second group of national mining parks by the Ministry of Land and Resources in May 2010. The park is situated in the central part of the Muping-Rushan metallogenic belt and is an ore field with moderate- and low-temperature hydrothermal quartz vein filling gold ore. The Jinzhou Gold Ore Area is the main part of the park, and it features remnants of mining geology, mining activity, mining disasters and geological landforms. It integrates information about gold, sightseeing and tourism, scientific research, science popularisation education, and leisure and recreation.
