World Heritage

In accordance with the World Heritage Convention, world heritage is “of outstanding universal value, in line with the principles of authenticity and integrity, and under the management framework of effective protection, refers to natural heritage or cultural heritage inscribed on the World Heritage List after being nominated by state parties to the Convention, inspected and reviewed by special experts from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and finally approved by voting of the World Heritage Committee at its annual session”. In theory, world heritage sites that transcend regions, nations and national boundaries are common heritage that belongs to all mankind in the past, present and in the future; in operation and practise, the legal status and national sovereignty of the countries in which the heritage is located are fully respected.
