This geopark is located 8 km northeast of Zaozhuang City, Shandong Province. It became a national geopark in 2002. It is characterised by the karst landform of Xiong’er Mountain and the geomorphology of the surrounding area. This area has been named after the Zaohuang karst landform and the Xiong’er landform. The peaks are staggered and overlapping. The mountains are generally oriented NE-SW, and they are arranged parallel to each other. Xiong’er Mountain, Baoluo Mountain, the Ssangyong Great Rift Valley, the karst caverns, the Longzhua staggered rock cliff (collapsed rocks), the mountain springs, and the surrounding landforms form a unique geological landscape. Baoluo is the highest peak in the geopark; it has an elevation of 584 m and is known as the best of the 72 plateaus in Lunan.
