Dynamic metamorphism is the metamorphism induced by strong tension during the fracturing process. It causes brittle fragmentation and ductile deformation of the rock in the fault zone and is always accompanied by recrystallization. Dynamic metamorphism can create brittle tectonites (breccia, cataclasite, ultracataclasite and fault gouge) and ductile tectonites (mylonite, ultramylonite and phyllonite).
