The Eurasian Plate is located to the west of the Pacific Oceanic Trench, north of the Himalayas and Alps, east of the Atlantic mid-ocean ridge and south of the Arctic Ocean. It includes a major part of the Eurasian continent. In the early Cenozoic, this plate merged with the Indo-Australian Plate and the African Plate along the suture zone with the Yarlung Tsangpo-Alpine Plate, forming the present integrated Eurasian Plate.
