Geopark management comprises staff with various backgrounds, such as planning, tourism, geology, biology, history, finance and marketing. However, the Ministry of Land and Resources requires staff with geoscience training, particularly in geotourism. A global geopark requires five to eight geoscientists, and a national geopark requires three to five geoscientists. A member of the senior management staff must have a geoscience background.
